GF RESTAURANTS BY NEIGHBOURHOOD

SAGRADA FAMILIA / SANT PAU HOSPITAL

Nothing to say about the world famous unfinished church of La Sagrada Familia. Just get in and let yourself impress by the columns, doors, lights...). But I do also strongly recomend a visit to the former Sant Pau Hospital. It has been completly refurbished and now its old pavillions have become the headquarters of many international organitzations. It was built by Doménech i Montaner, same arquitech than Palau de la Música Catalana. Both places are just amazing. Real catalan modernism jewels.

BORN AND GOTHIC QUARTER

These neighbourghoods cover the oldest part of the city of Barcelona. Including Las Ramblas, Cathedral area and Sta. Maria del Mar church area (Born).
The gothic quarter and the Born neibourghoods, are separated by Via Laietana, so on the right side of tis street (facing the sea) you will find the Cathedral and the Gothic quarter, and on its left side, Santa Catarina/Born neighbourhoods.
Both places are a must when visiting the city. Lots of historical monuments, Roman walls, churches (St. Maria del Mar is my favourite, I love its late gothic style, with amaizing high ceilings.) and also lots of restaurants and cafes.
Born is also know by its fashion shops. Many designers have stablished there... Clothes are not cheap, but you can find really special things.
